Whinfell School was founded in 2003 by a group of professionals who share a common belief that young people with autism are better able to learn, cope and develop in an environment that:

is part of a local community, not placed in a remote setting
is small, relaxed and homely, not a large, noisy and confusing institution
allows for individual teaching and small group sessions
genuinely caters for each young person’s individual needs
strives to make young people feel safe and good about themselves
promotes unconditional acceptance of diversity and challenges discrimination
